We celebrated a good girlfriend’s birthday last weekend
at La Societe, enjoying delicious French brunch food and cocktails. My friends love to do it up big for birthdays so this was our girly time before a big house bash at night.
La Societe includes a bright and colourful dining room in French themed decor & a lounge that is cozy and complete with a fresh Oyster bar. If you’re planning to visit, Summer is best when they open the patio overlooking Bloor street’s amazing shopping. Yorkville is just steps away so you can really turn brunch into a full day affair.
Brunch is a real event in Toronto so I’ve included a few suggestions below if you are new to or visiting the city. I chose spots in neighbourhoods that have a lot to see & do after or while you wait out that hour long line-up:
Mildred’s Temple Kitchen (Liberty Village) – Toronto staple, Hint: get the blueberry pancakes.
Cluny (Distillery District) – French cuisine.
Collette Grand Cafe (King West) – French cuisine, at the Thompson Hotel.
The Lakeview (Dundas & Ossington) – classic breakfast with $3 Mimosas.
Le Brunch @ Brassaii (King West) – Warning: Turns into an insane party!
